A new seven foot bronze statue of Tupac Shakur will be unveiled in Georgia later this year.
The $500,000 work of art will be displayed in front of amphitheater formerly known as the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain.
It will replace the statue of Pac that sat outside the venue until his family sold it and took the statue with them in 2015.
The old statue was mocked for not looking anything like the late rapper:
The new one depicts Pac in all of his shirtless glory. From the looks of its clay mock up, it might be a bit more realistic.
Jim Burnett, who now owns the venue, has commissioned artist Nijel Binns to lead the project.
There have been some reports that the state of Georgia is footing the bill. But whoever is paying, Burnett and Binns hope to have it finished by September to mark the 21st anniversary of Pac's death.
What do you think of the new statue?
