Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City put Kendrick Lamar on the mainstream map.

The album turned five yesterday, and to celebrate TDE president Punch tweeted out some facts about the project.

As you can see, Quentin Tarantino was a surprise influence for the project. The movies also played a role in the album's development when Andre 3000 turned down a chance to be on the track 'Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe' because he was shooting the Jimi Hendrix biopic Jimi: All Is By My Side.

Ultimately, JAY-Z got on the remix of 'Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe.'
