The Feds Sell Notorious Wu-Tang Album They Took From Martin Shkreli

Everyone's favorite pharma douce Martin Shkreli bought the notorious one-off Wu-Tang album Once Upon A Time In Shaolin in 2015 during the height of his trolling.

The government snatched it from him in 2018 as part of their $7.4 million forfeiture judgment against Shkreli for his 2018 conviction on securities fraud.

Today, the Feds reported they sold the album.

“Through the diligent and persistent efforts of this Office and its law enforcement partners, Shkreli has been held accountable and paid the price for lying and stealing from investors to enrich himself.  With today’s sale of this one-of-a-kind album, his payment of the forfeiture is now complete,” stated Acting U.S. Attorney Kasulis.  Ms. Kasulis acknowledged the significant efforts of the U.S. Marshals Service and, in particular, the work of the U.S. Marshals Service’s Office of General Counsel and the Complex Asset Unit of the agency’s Asset Forfeiture Division, as well as assistance provided by the Department of Justice’s Civil Division, Commercial Litigation Branch.

The album's buyer and the price they paid remained sealed. 

Once Upon A Time In Shaolin can not be commercial sold for 100 years.

In addition to the forfeiture judgment, Shkreli was convicted of two counts of securities fraud and one count of securities fraud conspiracy and sentenced to seven years.
