The Opening Week Numbers For Beyonce & A$AP Ferg Are In

Beyonce's 'Lemonade' tops the Billboard 200 album charts this week, moving 635,000 units, sales plus streaming.

On the one hand, that is an extremely strong number and the biggest opening of the year so far. On the other, it is just a fraction of what Adele (3.48 million first week for 25) and Taylor Swift (1.28 million for 1989) were able to bring in first week with their last albums.

And now with Drake projected to do between 1.2 million and 2 million first week for Views, it's clear that despite all of her star power, Queen Bey isn't quite a top tier artist when it comes to album sales.

Neither is ASAP Ferg, by a long shot. His sophomore album Always Strive and Prosper opens at No. 8 with 35,000 units, sales plus streaming. That's 3000 more than his debut album Trap Lord did first week in 2013. But it's also about 3000 less than Young Thug's Slime Season 3, a mixtape, did last month.

Last May, Ferg's A$AP bro Rocky's album, At. Long. Last. ASAP, did 116K during its first week.

Did you hear any good albums this week?
