Vince Staples Was Right About His Album Not Pulling A Troy Ave/Tyga

Earlier this week, Vince Staples was getting Twitter roasted for selling less than 5,000 copies of his debut album Summertime ’06.

Staples fought back, doubting the dire numbers. (Which were based on him not breaking Hits Daily Double's top 50 chart.)

It turns out he was right; Billboard has him moving 13,776 copies of Summertime '06 in its first week.

Although that spares Staples of Troy Ave/Tyga "going wood" infamy, those are still pretty weak numbers considering Staples has the promotional powers of Def Jam and Sprite behind him. (And because the album got really good reviews)

Have you heard Summertime 06? If so, what do you think?
