If you're thinking about robbing a bank in Rockford, Illinois, avoid the Alpine bank on North Mulford Road.
That's because security guard Brian Harrison works there and he has good aim.
The bank robber, 34-year-old Laurence Turner, entered the building and fired a shot at the ceiling. Harrison immediately grabs his gun and shoots Turner. A gun battle ensues, and Turner falls dead as he tries to leave the facility..
Yesterday, The Winnebago County State's Attorney's office declared Harrison's use of deadly force was justified and decided not to charge him.
Turner was also a suspect in a few other area bank robberies, including two that involved the thief shooting the ceiling.
