Every once in a while, Kayne West likes to have a little fun with his giant ego.

He shows his human side in this American Idol audition tape, which is promote the final season of the show.

"Originally a producer, I always wanted to rap but nobody really believed in me,” Kanye says when judge Keith Urban asks him what he does.

Then he sings the first verse of 'Gold Digger.'

The segment was taped back in October and had already leaked on the Internet, but this is the full version.

The final session of American Idol begins tomorrow night, January 6.
