'Welcome To Death Row' Being Shopped As Sequel To 'Straight Outta Compton'

Last month, there was buzz about a Straight Outta Compton sequel that would feature Tha Dogg Pound.

That turned out to be mostly wishful thinking on the part of Tha Dogg Pound. But a Compton sequel based on Death Row Records looks like it may be the real deal.

Welcome To Death Row is currently being shopped as a sequel that would use many of the same characters (Suge, Tupac, Dre Snoop etc) as the smash hit N.W.A. biopic. S. Leigh Savidge, who wrote the screenplay for Death Row, co-wrote and executive produced Compton.

The biggest barrier to getting Death Row to theaters is that the project doesn't have the rights to the label's music. Savidge was instrumental in getting Eazy E's widow on board with Compton, and maybe he can work his magic again.
