Wendy Williams Gets Devastating Diagnosis

The final episode of The Wendy Williams Show aired in June 2022 and the 59-year-old has been barely seen in public since then.

We now know why Williams' public career ended so abruptly.

Williams has been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

"Wendy would not have received confirmation of these diagnoses were it not for the diligence of her current care team, who she chose, and the extraordinary work of the specialists at Weill Cornell Medicine. Receiving a diagnosis has enabled Wendy to receive the medical care she requires," read a statement from her team.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Aphasia is a disorder that affects how you communicate. It can impact your speech and the way you write and understand both spoken and written language.

Actor Bruce Willis was recently diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia and has also retreated from public life.
