Wiz Khalifa Wants To Be Known For More Than Just Weed

Probably as much as anybody these days, Wiz Khalifa and Pittsburgh brah Mac Miller are the  Cheech and Chong of Hip Hop.

Wiz had some things to say about his weed reputation -- and his buddy Miller -- during an interview with Hard Knock TV.

First he addressed the huge deal Mac signed with Warner Bros. earlier this month.

"Being from Pittsburgh, we're bigger than a label or a situation," Wiz says. "We started doing music exactly the same way so we going to get to where we want to be in life regardless."

And as far as being  stuck in the "stoner rap" box ...

"I was just talking with one of my homies yesterday, I kind of want to break the stigma of everything I do is like a 'stoner this' or a 'weed head' that, which is cool, that's what I built my marketing and my brand but at the end of the day everyone who is successful in film or in music gets high and they don't look at them as the stoner."

Between his high profile break up with Amber Rose and his increasingly eccentric taste in hair color and attire, the 27-year old is certainly giving us things to associate him with besides marijuana. Although one could argue the wacky plant has contributed to all that. And videos like the one he dropped for James Bong certainly aren't helping him shake free of his weed rep.

Don't worry Wiz, it's not the worst box to be stuck in.
