The saga of Wu-Tang's Once Upon a Time in Shaolin continues. The 31-track album was announced early last year, with RZA boldly saying they would sell only one copy of it, and that he already had offers between $2 million and $5 million.

That didn't come to be, although there was briefly a rumor that Skrillex had purchased the LP.

Now Wu-Tang is planning to sell the mysterious album -- which took six years to make and has a feature with Cher -- on the online auction site Paddle8. The date of the auction hasn't been announced, but RZA told Forbes magazine there would be a press conference on January 28 to further explain what's going on.

"This is being positioned both by the Wu-Tang Clan and by Paddle8 as a work of art," Sarah Goulet of Paddle8 explained. "It’s truly treating this album, which very well may be the last album that the Wu-Tang Clan makes together, as a one-of-a kind, special property that is worth the price."
The Clan's last studio album, A Better Tomorrow, flopped, costing RZA a half a million in his own money.

It remains to be seen if the collective's unique and evolving strategy for Once Upon a Time in Shaolin makes up for that setback.
