After a wait of over a year and half, Young Thug's RICO trial has finally begun.

During the trial, prosecutors will try to use Thugger's bars against him.

Then there is the issue of his rap name.  "Young Thug" just sounds like the kind of person who would conspire with other people to commit violent crimes.

Thug's lawyer, Brian Steel, tried to get ahead of that by explaining the name's origins during his opening statement.

Steel told the court that "Thug" is an acronym for “Truly Humbled Under God.”

Do you think that will help?
