Sales plus streaming has become the new metric for measuring album sales.

It takes into account traditional album sales, and then adds streaming, using this formula:

* 1,500 on-demand audio and/or video song streams = 10 track sales = 1 album sale.

Here's a list of the top 50 artists of 2016 in terms of their total SPS for all projects.

As you can see, our old friend Drake tops the list with ease.

But Eminem should got some credit, too. Shady racked up quite a large amounts of SPSs for someone who neither had a new album in or around 2016 nor juiced his sales by dying.
